This site is a tribute to Ethel 'Bloss' Andrew, who was born in Manchester on May 10, 1927. She is much loved and will always be remembered.

Level Water (www.levelwater.org) Mum was an active volunteer for a local organisation and regularly went swimming with the disabled when she was more active. Swimming for children with disabilities relieves pain and offers freedom and independence that many of those children never experience elsewhere. LevelWater work in partnership with pools and swim schools around the country. They train teachers and help with funding to offer high-quality one-to-one lessons to children with disabilities. 

Greenfingers (www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk) Mum was always interested in helping children and those less-able. She also loved gardening and was involved in various community gardening projects, including a school and a hospice. Greenfingers aims to provide all life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature. They create beautiful, well-designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with their family, friends and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation. 

Thames Hospice (www.thameshospice.org.uk)  The team at our local Hospice were very helpful to Mum in her last years. They took on 'the system' to get her the equipment and funding she needed. She didn't need to go there at the end, but they were always there to talk to and help if they could.
